My attachment system has been disintegrating incredibly fast. Those who are close to me want to know if I still love them, because I’ve changed so much so quickly.
It’s a good thing. Of course I still love you, just from a different place inside myself. I love you, not because you deserve it but because I can’t help but love you. I can’t help but see your innocence. I no longer have the same needs I once had, and this can feel like withdrawal, but in fact this is what makes me capable of the real thing.
We can’t play games with people forever. At some point we need to take a look at what is actually going on.
Who can we be more honest with today?
Who can we come clean to, today?
Who was there for us when we needed help?
To whom do we owe an apology?
And who do we secretly feel owes us an apology?
Have the conversation.
Life is does not happening without our participation.
The only thing we have to lose is our captivity.
