The Intellect, and other impediments to the Truth

The Intellect, and other impediments to the Truth
—————–
In ordinary reality, we learn by taking new information and adding it to our old information. More is better.
In non-ordinary reality, it doesn’t work the same way. It is non-ordinary because it is different than how society typically functions.
Reading a book in an ordinary way and processing it in an ordinary way will create ordinary results. That is the case even if the book is written in a non-ordinary way, about a non-ordinary topic.
The Intellect is a double-edged sword because it can of course be incredibly useful. You are using it right now to decipher the words I’m writing.
However, more often than not the intellect is working in favor of ignorance, piling and re-arranging data on top of more data and creating a library.
All the while, the opposite of self-sabotage might be to simply burn that library down.
Ignorance is made up of the robotic identity blinders we have adopted as ourselves. These blinders dictate everything we take for granted. How our voice sounds, how our body feels, how our eyes see, how our food tastes. Certainly, every decision we make.
If we read from this crystalized identity, our filters remove everything that’s truly useful from the material. If we relate, and desire, and create from this robotic place we find ways to confirm over and over again what we believe to be true, especially in relation to who we think we are.
A deeply tangible sacrifice must be made if we are to process in a non-ordinary way. The willingness to See how we process, the willingness to See how we think, the willingness to See our denial. Sacrificing our pride, our arrogance, and furthermore sacrificing the very qualities that seem to make us human.
An ordinary therapist is not going to endorse this depth of process I’m pointing at because of the apparent danger of “losing your mind”, even though this is the only way out of the hell we’ve been manipulated to creating for ourselves from an early age.
Stepping into the nature of infinity occurs in a space beyond what the intellect can tag and label. We speak about it in order to normalize what the mind may otherwise get stuck ruminating on, but no description will ever be quite accurate.
Human intellect is a part of ordinary reality. A non-ordinary intellect is available to us as well, but it’s not accessed the same way and it has a very different definition of sanity.
