Understanding Awakening

Understanding Awakening
————————–
I am feeling extremely nerdy today so I am going to dive into some nitty gritty details which is going to make most people’s eyes glaze over REALLY quickly. Fair warning.
The human has a sleeping state and a waking state.
But classical enlightenment or “awakening” does not refer to this, these are two entirely different issues and I am going to talk about here the difference between awakening out of the sleeping state vs enlightenment.
As consciousness itself awakens inside of someone, this may or may not be noticed by the human.
For myself, passing through the 5 major stages of consciousness awakening I hardly noticed.
Because my human was very much saddled with so many programs, I was not able to See my consciousness without great concentrated effort and the help of plant medicines.
This means many people who are awake do not even realize it.
In the LOC 1000 system that I use, the first awakening happens at LOC 600, the second at LOC 700, the third at LOC 800, the fourth at LOC 900, and the 5th at LOC 1000 (And no, this is not the same as the more famous Hawkins levels of energy scale).
Someone who is a “seeker” is between LOC 550-600. Most people are stuck in this range (and many fancy themselves enlightened in this range, as well).
The body waking out of the sleeping state may be temporary or permanent (when someone realizes and processes a subconscious program) but this is not the same thing as consciousness awakening to itself.
These two processes support each other but are two entirely different issues. I often refer to them as “healing” vs “awakening” but most of the time these are confused with one another and in the spiritual community, more often than not these two issues are conflated as the same thing.
And if you ask just about anyone if they are awake, probably 80% of people on Earth will say yes, while more like (just guessing) consciousness has awakened to itself in more like 2% of people – so there is a major discrepancy here. The average LOC on Earth is around 300.
Very often someone who has experienced a temporary (or even permanent) awakening of the body from the sleeping state will feel they are now “awake” because their experience has changed.
(And of course, there is an entire “woke” movement ironically which in its own definition is literally describing the sleeping state.)
So what this means, the integration in the body is waking up the sleeping state of the body.
So, I might technically have a higher LOC than someone but I can still very much learn integration from them and honor them as my teacher and me as their student because I have to be honest with myself about where my body is having an experience of being in the sleeping state.
We can have different teachers for different purposes – some are experts on awakening and some experts on the integration of that awakening and sometimes teachers have both skills.
Consciousness is never having an experience, only the body is having an experience.
Aside: It’s hard to describe what I mean by this so I’ll just talk about my cat:
My cat is pure consciousness.
He is not having an “experience” because he has always moved on to the next thing and the next thing. There is no way I could possibly improve my cat’s experience.
If I give him a piece of meat he just wants more. Nothing ever satiates him because he is living in an endless state. He is experience-less, living in a state out of time. This is why cats have been worshipped as deities. Their peace cannot be disrupted and so they do not need or crave peace.
Consciousness is never looking for peace. Only the human wants peace.
If a human dies, a dog will mourn them. A cat will just eat you when you die. Cats are ruthless. That’s because they are pure consciousness.
Back to what I was saying:
Someone else’s body could be having a more awakened experience than my body – while my consciousness, with more applied effort, is more awake to itself even if my body is less awake.
Measuring how awake our body is can possibly be done through scientific measurements of health, but we can always get healthier. This is an infinite process.
However, consciousness awakening to itself is a FINITE process and doesn’t go on forever and that’s why we have the 1000 LOC system to measure it (and for those insecurities, I must assure you it is not a value judgment in any way – this is simply classical yogi attainment).
I have to be humble enough to know which is which, where my body is still identified with my mind and old mental programs, and where my consciousness is not yet integrated into my body because of those programs. The temptation to place ourselves higher (or lower) than where we are is a pointless sabotage perpetrated by these programs – this type of “acting” or mimicking leads nowhere and we have to acknowledge our inaccurate patterns.
Yesterday I had a major awakening of the body out of my sleeping state of anger repression. The experience of the body can not change my LOC, but it did change my experience.
Today I am in a much softer and more awake “state”. I’m sure there is more ways in which my body is in the sleeping state which I will soon discover. This means that “I” may be “awake” but my body is not necessarily always in the waking state.
If we make everything about our experience and our STATE, it actually misses the point of what consciousness is actually doing. I may “like” the apparent achievement of the state – it’s certainly fun and interesting and relieving to not be suffering, but trying to get out of suffering just for the sake of ESCAPE misses the point of consciousness.
Not suffering is great, but genuine consciousness is never trying to NOT do anything.
Consciousness CREATES. That’s IT. Experiencing is not CREATING.
I am guessing that what I’m writing here makes very little sense to most people – however, there is still a benefit I am offering. The confusion I’ve likely created is probably that benefit.
If someone reading this has been super confident about what it means to be awake and now they are questioning it, this is actually an important process. We need to erode the confidence of the spiritual ego which deeply wants to be special and identify as being awake because THIS is exactly what prevents further investigation of the issue.
I have a systematic approach called the Portal of Creation which outlines every nuance of the sleeping state so that we can differentiate between these two extremely nuanced issues.
That’s all, folks!
